"THE WONDROUS BEASTS IN REBECCA & THE GREAT GOAT GETAWAY" |
Rebecca & The Great Goat Getaway
by "Professor" Christopher Furfur
Illustrated by Alexandra Artigas
(HARDCOVER, SMYTHE SEWN FOR DURABILITY)
FULL-COLOR PICTUREBOOK, 8.5" X 11"
"This is a wonderful book!" - KAGM talk show host Diane Anderson (Albuquerque, NM) "This is a great story for children who need a boost to their self-esteem. And it appeals to all who love animals. It teaches a valuable lesson without being preachy." - Ellen Arbough, professional storyteller (Denver, CO)
A fabulous picture book (for ages up to 8+) sure to warm your heart, with an ending that might very well bring a tear to your eye. (A great mother/daughter book, too!)
Rebecca begins her day bored and lacking confidence in herself, only to learn surprising lessons at an unexpected place (a state fair) -- about positive thinking, about how fun and rewarding it is to help others in need (even if those "others" are animals in distress), and about the fact that kids can make a difference...kids do count!
On a day that Rebecca felt was a zero...she turned it around by becoming a hero!
A great book for kids who are prone to getting bored, or who have a poor self-image. It also teaches children about strange and wondrous animals of which they are probably unaware...and to love and respect animals.

"Creative storytelling by a master storyteller! Kids will relate to this story of animals and a state fair. Wonderful read for kids!"
Rick DeReyes, KOB-TV Personality |
"I enjoyed the way the author used words. The language was fabulous, especially the way he described the animals. He used a lot of good sentences kids could relate to, with strong verbs that made the story come to life. It wasn't boring language. My favorite part was all the stuff about the animals.
"I also thought it was nice to have a story from New Mexico. You don't always see that in print.""My sister really enjoyed the implied morals in the story. And a friend's daugher really liked the book. She especially loved learning about all the animals!"
Kathy Harvey, 1st Grade Teacher, Inez Elementary School, Albuquerque, NM
|
"Morgan, our 6-year-old just LOVED the book! She said it was a great story. And she's a real book lover!"
Peggy P., an Albuquerque grandmother
